Each pot is a unique artwork, requiring immense time and skill. It's not just a teapot but a collectible art piece, embodying the artisan's highest craftsmanship.
【Clay Material】Premium raw zhu ni with reduction firing
【Introduction】Expertly handcrafted from raw Yixing Zisha clay, this elegant teapot is a testament to traditional artistry. It boasts a dignified, well-proportioned form that is as pleasing to hold as it is to behold. The magic lies in the clay's unique double-pore structure, which naturally regulates temperature and interacts with the tea oils. This process enhances the tea's inherent aroma and complexity without imparting any foreign tastes, ensuring every cup you brew is perfectly balanced and captures the true, unadulterated essence of your finest tea leaves.
【Brewing Advice】 (1) We recommend using one teapot for each type of tea. (2) Zisha teapots are generally suitable for brewing all types of tea, but if you are looking for the ultimate pairing for different tea types and clay types, you can refer to our zisha clay and tea pairing guide by following this link: https://yiqinteahouse.com/blogs/news/zisha-clay-properties-tea-pairing-guide
【Reduction Firing】 Wuhui is a secondary firing process that changes the teapot's colour by manipulating the oxidation state of iron. In the first firing, done in a normal oxygen‑rich kiln, it yields the red Zhuni colour. In the second firing, the fired pot is placed in a sealed sagger with charcoal and refired at low temperature; the oxygen‑free environment reduces the red iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) to black ferrous oxide (FeO), turning the clay a deep, translucent blackish‑grey with blue or greenish undertones. This is a pure physical change – no harmful chemicals are added, and the interior remains red if broken. Due to Zhuni's high crystallinity, success rates are very low, making these pots rare and more valuable than regular Zhuni. The finish exhibits a warm, jade‑like lustre with bluish undertones.
